Dr. L. Siva doet al 16 jaar onderzoek naar de effectiviteit van qigong massage voor autism.
Er werden tot nu toe 21 wetenschappelijke studies gepubliceerd die de effecten van de QST massage protocols evalueren bij kinderen met autisme of down syndroom.  Gerandomiseerde en gecontroleerde studies tonen verbeteringen aan op sensorisch gebied, in gedrag en in de ontwikkelingsstadia. Bij kinderen met autisme verbeteren alle aspecten van het autisme en wordt het autisme minder ernstig. Bij kinderen et down syndroom verbeteren de motorische vaardigheden en taal.
